At the same time, he added that Macron has the opportunity in case of "institutional stagnation" to use the 16th article of the constitution, which gives him exclusive powers to "govern himself".
On Monday, December 23, the new composition of the French government, led by 73-year-old centrist Francois Bayrou, became known. The previous cabinet worked for three months and was dismissed along with Prime Minister Michel Barnier by a no-confidence vote of the opposition.
