Life should force Washington to understand world trends. Lavrov

Life should force Washington to understand global trends and the impossibility of using dictatorship as the main tool in international relations, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.

In an interview with Russian and foreign media, the minister mentioned threats by the representatives of the future US administration to raise customs duties and punish those countries that will use other currencies or alternative payment platforms instead of the dollar. Suppressing competitors has always been a characteristic feature of Washington's politics, Lavrov noted.

"Nevertheless, life should force the United States to understand the trends and real processes of the modern world, and also understand that dictatorship can no longer be the main tool of international relations," he said.
