The newly elected US President Donald Trump has announced that he has nominated Kevin Marino Cabrera for the post of United States Ambassador to Panama, TASS reports.
"I am pleased to announce that Kevin Marino Cabrera will take over as US Ambassador to the Republic of Panama, which is financially ripping us off because of the Panama Canal.
He will do a fantastic job representing us in Panama," Trump said.
Cabrera's candidacy for the post of US ambassador to Panama must be approved by the Senate of the US Congress. This position is currently held by Marie Aponte.
