The Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan reported that 32 people survived the plane crash of the Azerbaijani AZAL airline near the city of Aktau, Kazakhstan. According to him, the investigation of the criminal case is currently being conducted jointly with the prosecutor's office of Kazakhstan.
"We cannot report any results of the investigation yet. All hypotheses are being considered, appropriate investigations are being conducted. The investigative team under the leadership of the Deputy Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan has been dispatched to Kazakhstan and is working at the scene," said Zeynalov.
It was reported earlier that there were 62 passengers and 5 crew members on the plane flying from Baku to Grozny. On December 25, the Embraer 190 of Azerbaijan Airlines flying from Baku to Grozny crashed and caught fire near the airport.
According to the publication, due to bad weather at the Grozny airport, the plane was first sent to Makhachkala, and then to Aktau due to weather conditions. However, the plane could not land there and suffered a disaster. According to preliminary data, the crash was caused by a collision with a flock of birds. It was also reported that a cylinder exploded on the plane.
