On the instructions of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, a delegation of officials left for Kazakhstan to investigate the accident of the plane leaving from Baku to Grozny and making an emergency landing in Kazakhstan.

This is reported by the Azerbaijani state agency Azertag. The delegation to Aktau includes the Minister of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan, the Minister of Emergency Situations, the Deputy Prosecutor General, the Deputy Minister of Health, the Deputy Director of the State Agency of Civil Aviation, the President of Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) and representatives of other relevant state bodies.

In turn, Kazakh news agency "Kazinform" writes that a state commission headed by Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbaev was created by the order of President Kasim-Jomart Tokayev. The latter has already left for Aktau.

A plane bound for Grozny from Baku sounded a distress signal while flying over the Caspian Sea, after which it diverted to Kazakhstan for an emergency landing. According to preliminary data, the collision with a flock of birds caused the plane crash. There were 62 passengers and 5 crew members on the plane. There are also survivors.
