Maya Sandu assumed her duties within the framework of the second mandate of the President of Moldova. During the inauguration ceremony, which took place in the presence of deputies, members of the Constitutional Court and foreign diplomats, he swore to the Constitution of the Republic. The event is broadcast by Moldova-1 TV channel.
"I swear to give all my strength and abilities for the prosperity of the Republic of Moldova, compliance with the country's constitution and laws, democracy, fundamental human rights and freedoms, sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial defense," Sandu said in the text of the oath.
The ceremony began with the singing of the national anthem of Moldova, after which the President of the Constitutional Court, Domnica Manole, read the decision confirming the results of the presidential elections. Then Sandu was sworn in, after which Manole announced that "Sandu has officially assumed the position of President of the Republic of Moldova".
According to Moldovan legislation, the same person cannot hold the office of president for more than two terms in a row.
