The Ministry of Defense of Israel has signed an agreement with Slovakian authorities to sell the Barak MX air defense system to Bratislava, The Times of Israel reports.
The Ministry of Defense of Israel considered the deal a landmark, stating that this is currently the largest agreement with Slovakia in the field of export of defense products.
The amount of the contract is 560 million euros. The Barak MX air defense system, produced by the Israel Aerospace Industries concern, is designed to hit various air targets, including fighter jets, helicopters, drones, cruise and anti-aircraft missiles, tactical missiles.
The Barak MX is equipped with three batteries of interceptor missiles capable of operating at a range of 35 to 150 km.
