Jordan supports the political process in Syria and the development of a new constitution

Jordan and other Arab countries will support Syria in its post-war economic recovery without any interference in its internal affairs. This was announced by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom, Ayman al-Safadi, after the talks held in Damascus with the leader of the armed groups that came to power in Syria, Ahmed al-Sharaa.

"We support the transitional political process in Syria and the development of a new constitution," the deputy prime minister emphasized, whose words were quoted by Al Mamlaka TV channel.
He expressed hope that an inclusive government will be formed in Syria, which will represent all the faiths of the country.

"We want all Syrians to feel safe and have equal rights," As-Safadi said.

He called the negotiations sincere and constructive, noting that "al-Sharaa is aware of the importance of Jordanian-Syrian cooperation".

"We discussed the establishment of bilateral trade, border security, assistance in the supply of electricity to Syria and the return of refugees," he said.
