The elimination of oil products washed ashore in the Krasnodar region of the Russian Federation will take about a month

It will take about a month to remove the oil products spilled in the Kerch Strait on the Black Sea coast of the Krasnodar region of the Russian Federation, RIA Novosti reports, quoting the words of Krasnodar Governor Veniamin Kondratev.

"I think about a month, no more, but we have to understand everything, the process will not stop, because the sea will periodically throw out new oil products," Kondratev said in a conversation with "Zvezda" TV channel. He added , that the strategic goal is to clean the sea area by April-May, when fuel oil can come to the surface and reach the shore again. The accident happened in the Black Sea due to a storm.

Oil spilled as a result of the accident, and measures are being taken to eliminate it. According to emergency services, the tankers were transporting about 9.2 thousand tons of fuel oil. The source of "RIA Novosti" reported that, according to preliminary estimates, about 3.7 thousand tons of oil products appeared in the sea.
