A technical employee of the Iranian Embassy in Damascus was killed on December 15 as a result of an attack by terrorists on his car. This was announced by the official representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Esmail Baghai.
"On Sunday, December 15, terrorist elements shot at the car of Seyyed Daoud Bitaraf, an employee of the Iranian embassy in Damascus, as a result of which he was killed," the Iranian Foreign Ministry said in a statement and strongly condemn this criminal act."
The diplomat "emphasized that the responsibility of finding, prosecuting and punishing the perpetrators of this crime lies with the transitional government of Syria" and "added that the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is seriously studying the matter."
On December 8, representatives of the armed groups that seized power in the Syrian capital stormed the Iranian embassy in Damascus.
