The US Senate passed the bill on extending the funding of the federal government, which was previously approved by the House of Representatives.
85 members of the upper house of the Congress were in favor of the document, 11 were against it. The meeting will be broadcast on C-SPAN.
The bill would extend federal government funding until March 14 of next year and provide more than $100 billion for disaster relief.The document has now been sent to US President Joe Biden for his signature. He plans to sign the bill on Saturday, the White House said.
Congress has until midnight local time on Saturday (08:00 Moscow time on Saturday) to agree on further funding to prevent a partial shutdown of the federal government.
