"Publication". Drug trafficking in the army has increased

"Hraparak" newspaper writes:

"Drug distribution in the army is a closed topic, no official publication is ever made. But judging by the document in our hands, they are growing at a great pace.

Recently, the military prosecutor's office conducted a study: 2021-2023. in the course of the RA Armed Forces servicemen's cases of drug use and illegal trafficking, and to find out that about 600 servicemen are going through such proceedings.

Most of them are mandatory conscripts. Compared to 2021, the number of cases in 2023 almost doubled to 220.

It is not yet known how many cases were registered this year, but the Military Prosecutor's Office records. "Each year, compared to the previous year, the cases of drug use and illegal trafficking by servicemen have increased."

In the explanations given to the law enforcement officers, the servicemen stated that they found or collected the narcotics and psychotropic drugs, or they received them through social networks.

In one case, the serviceman grew it himself, and in the other, he acquired it "by stealing the property entrusted to his management". Maybe it's about psychotropic drugs."
