Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira stated that BRICS is approaching the G20 format.
"From January 1, we will chair the BRICS, we will also have big meetings at the ministerial level, the community is almost approaching the G20," Vieira said in an interview with Estado de Minas newspaper.
BRICS is an interstate association established in 2006 by Russia, China, India and Brazil.
Russia holds the position of the president of the organization from January 1, 2024. Since the beginning of 2024, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, UAE and Saudi Arabia have joined BRICS. Russia's BRICS presidency is held under the motto of strengthening multilateralism for the sake of global equitable development and security.
