German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier plans to make a decision on the dissolution of the Bundestag (German Parliament) on December 27. Kerstin Gamelin, the representative of the German President's office, informed about this in X.
"In recent days, I have held talks with the presidents of the Bundestag factions and groups to make sure that there is no longer any prospect of a stable parliamentary majority for the German government," Gamelin quoted Steinmeier as saying.
"I intend to make a decision to dissolve the Bundestag on December 27, 2024, in accordance with Article 68 of the Basic Law," the president added.
