The Joint Investigation Team has summoned the President of the Republic of Korea, Yun Seok Yeol, for questioning in connection with the December 25 Catholic Christmas Day riot. Yonhap speculates that the day of the holiday was deliberately chosen, "related to the security of the president", because there will be fewer people in the government complex on that day. Representatives of the anti-corruption investigation department, the police and the Ministry of Defense were included in the joint investigative group.
Yoon Seok Yeol is suspected of organizing a rebellion. due to the imposition of martial law on December 3 and abuse of power, he was given the status of a possible leader of the conspirators.
