After gallbladder surgery, officers will serve with restrictions. Papikyan (video)

There are diseases that can be neutralized within a year through medical intervention. There is no interest among the public to restore health through medical intervention, which leads to the fact that the one-year postponement of military conscription is extended for several more years.

Minister of Defense Suren Papikyan expressed such a view during the government session.

As a solution, a project has been submitted to the government for approval, which clarifies the relationship between the list of diseases that determine the degree of suitability of a citizen or serviceman for military service, their descriptions and the expression, examination and examination of certain diseases in the conditions of contraindicated military service, and the determination of the degree of suitability and the range of contraindications based on their results.

"With this change, we also restore justice and do not provide an opportunity to encourage evasion of military service by various means and forms," Papikyan said in his speech, continuing.

"There is a need to specify the diseases and pathological conditions in which citizens who have been deferred from compulsory military service for the purpose of treatment during the examination for the first time, are recognized as fit for military service with a restriction based on the results of the studies conducted after the end of the deferral period, if unfitness or temporary unfitness were not recorded. the conditions defined for, as well as contraindications for certain diseases will be determined by the doctor of the military unit, depending on the degree of the disease," he said. Papikyan, detailing that if it turns out after receiving a one-year postponement that there was an opportunity to neutralize the disease through surgery, which was not done, the Ministry of Defense will organize the intervention with its own funds and will recruit such persons to serve with restrictions. He noted that the officers who underwent gall bladder surgery will serve with restrictions.
