South Korean prosecutors handed over the president's case to the anti-corruption body

The Korean Prosecutor's Office has decided to transfer the rebellion case against President Yun Seok-yeol to the Office of Anti-Corruption Investigation of High-ranking Officials. This is reported by Yonhap agency.
After the lifting of the martial law, the police, the anti-corruption investigation department and the prosecutor's office started investigating the events of December 3-4. Concerns have been expressed because of the rivalry between them.

According to the law "On the Department of Anti-Corruption Investigations", other investigative bodies are obliged to transfer the case to him, if the head of the department requests it. The police and the administration have started proceedings on suspicion of sedition and abuse of authority.

On December 11, the High-Level Anti-Corruption Bureau, the police and the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Korea agreed to join forces to investigate the martial law cases, resulting in the establishment of a joint investigation team.
