"When I say that the social situation of the ethnic group is getting worse, some people get sad.
Putting expert assessments aside, I present only a few episodes from official statistics.
- 475,000 people are pensioners who receive 45-52,000 drams, much less than the food basket of 80,000 drams (utility, transportation, clothing expenses are not included).
- More than 190 thousand people are officially registered unemployed.
Many people do not register as unemployed because there is no unemployment benefit.
- 220,000 people - those with unreliable, non-refundable loans (representatives of the two previous groups are not actually given loans).
Add to all of this the children under 18, children, the sick, compulsory military servicemen, war invalids, landless villagers, prisoners, others unable to work, emigrants from Artsakh, and you can at least get an approximate idea of the real income and social condition of the population."
