Ukraine received another tranche of $2.2 billion from the International Monetary Fund from the total volume of extended lending (EFF) of about $16 billion. This was reported by the country's Prime Minister Denis Shmigal. "Ukraine received another tranche of 2.2 billion dollars from the IMF. This is a part of the funds provided by the EFF program, in the amount of 16 billion dollars. In order to receive them, Ukraine has done important homework and successfully passed the fourth review of the program for the first time in the course of our bilateral relations with the IMF," the prime minister's telegram channel message said. According to Shmigal, the transferred money will help the government to finance budget expenses, social benefits, regarding the salaries of doctors and teachers. The allocation of a $2.2 billion tranche to Ukraine was approved by the Board of Directors of the IMF on June 28. As a result of the payments of the IMF loan program, the total amount will be about 7.6 billion dollars, the press service of the fund informed. According to Kristalina Georgieva, managing director of the IMF, the total volume of foreign financing of Ukraine is 122 billion dollars in the base version and 141 billion dollars in the perspective version, during the four-year period of the crediting program.
