US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken considers it necessary to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to Syria

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken considers it necessary to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to Syria, as well as to prevent the country from becoming a springboard for terrorists.

He outlined this position in telephone conversations with the heads of diplomatic departments of Jordan, Qatar and the UAE, writes TASS.

According to Miller, Blinken expressed the same position in phone conversations with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdel Rahman Al Thani and Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Hussein Abdullah al-Safadi.

The Secretary of State also noted that all Syrian armed opposition groups "must be able to participate in the political process".

Blinken also had a telephone conversation with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Ati.

In it, according to Miller, the US Secretary of State stated that "all forces present in Syria must respect human rights, ensure the safety of religious and ethnic minorities, and follow international humanitarian standards."
