Russian President Vladimir Putin has decided to grant political asylum to his Syrian counterpart Bashar al-Assad and his family. This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the head of the Russian Federation, TASS cites. "Of course, such decisions cannot be made without the head of state. It is his decision," he said.
At the same time, the representative of the Kremlin noted that there are no official statements on this issue.
"I can't say anything on this topic now," Peskov stressed.
