Romanian prosecutors and police are carrying out searches in the country

Romanian prosecutors and police are conducting searches in several cities of the country, Agerpress reports.

The nine searches are carried out, according to the General Prosecutor's Office, in the case of "incitement of violence and hatred against people on the basis of ethnicity, sexual orientation or expression of political opinion by the public in the context of the electoral process".

We are talking about actions inciting violence against a candidate in the presidential elections or texts supporting a specific candidate and texts containing fascist, racist or intolerant concepts or doctrines that incite hatred and violence on ethnic, racial or religious grounds. In particular, Roma for Members of the Democracy (Gypsies for Democracy) organization.

Three raids are being carried out in the city of Brasov in cases of election bribery, money laundering, digital fraud, as well as manifestations of a fascist, racist or intolerant nature.

Among the suspects is Bogdan Peshkir, who financed the election campaign of independent candidate Calin Georgescu.
