Israel will strengthen defenses in the Golan Heights

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has announced that it has strengthened its defenses in the Golan Heights, near the border with Syria, and increased preparedness for various scenarios.

"Based on the assessment of the situation, the IDF is mobilizing additional forces for defensive missions in the Golan Heights region adjacent to the Israeli-Syrian border. The reinforcement will strengthen defenses in the region and readiness for various scenarios," the statement said.

The terrorist Hayat Tahrir al-Sham terrorist group, together with a number of armed organizations that are part of the so-called Syrian armed opposition, launched a large-scale operation on November 29, moving from the north of Idlib to the cities of Aleppo.

A day later, on November 30, the terrorists took control of Syria's second largest city and its surroundings, including the international airport and Quwayris military airport.
