Israel struck two Syrian border checkpoints with Lebanon, Lebanese Transport Minister Ali Hamieh told Reuters. The official noted that the strikes were carried out on the Syrian side of the checkpoints, both at the "Arida" checkpoint in the north of Lebanon, and at the "Jusieh" checkpoint in the east. Both checkpoints are important for entering the Syrian province of Homs, where the militants are trying to advance.
It was reported earlier that after fierce battles, the Syrian city of Hama came under the control of the militants. For its part, the Israeli army announced that it struck "arms smuggling routes and terrorist infrastructure" of "Hezbollah" on the Syrian-Lebanon border.
