The reincarnation of the Cold War in the world today threatens to enter a hot phase, said the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
Speaking at the plenary session of the OSCE Council of Ministers, Lavrov noted that the United States and its allies have trashed all arms control agreements signed in the 1980s, including the ABM Treaty.
After the disgrace of Afghanistan, a new unifying enemy was needed. The result is the reincarnation of the Cold War, only now with a much greater risk of its transition to a hot phase," Lavrov said.
