Yonhap: South Korean opposition initiates presidential impeachment on December 4

Six opposition parties in the Republic of Korea submitted a motion to impeach President Yoon Seok-yeol at 14:43 local time. This was reported by the Yonhap agency.
Voting on the proposal, according to the norms, must take place within 24-72 hours after consideration at the plenary meeting, which is expected on December 5.

This means the impeachment vote will take place on December 6th or 7th. There are 300 seats in the National Assembly, 108 of which are controlled by the president's Civic Force party. For impeachment, a two-thirds vote of deputies is required.
