Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia intend to impose sanctions against the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia


The Baltic countries intend to apply personal sanctions against the organizers of suppressing protests in Georgia. This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Gabrielius Landsbergis.

"The three Baltic states have agreed to apply national sanctions against those who suppressed fair protests in Sakartvelo (Vilnius officially uses this name for Georgia since 2018)," the text says.

Furthermore, the Foreign Minister noted that they do not expect "opponents of democracy and violators of human rights" in the Baltic countries.

The Foreign Ministry told BNS agency that it is about a dozen high-ranking officials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
