French actor Nils Arestrup died at the age of 75

French actor Nils Arestrup died at the age of 75. He played in more than 80 films and received the French "César" national film award three times.

"It is with great sadness that I announce the death of my husband, the distinguished actor Nils Arestrup, after a courageous battle with the disease. He passed away surrounded by the love of his family," said the actor's wife, Isabelle Le Nouvel (quoted by Le Parisien). It is clarified that Arestrup died at his home.

Nils Arestrup was born on February 8, 1949 in France. He started his film career at the age of 24. The actor became famous for his roles in the films of French directors Alain Rennes and Jacques Oudyar. He received the national "Cesar" award for best supporting actor three times. In 2006, Nils Arestrup made his directorial debut with the political drama "The Candidate".
