"According to the information of "Zhoghovurd" daily, the pre-investigative body, represented by the RA Investigative Committee, is preparing to carry out actions in the near future regarding Serob Gasparyan, the brother of the former deputy of the National Assembly Rustam Gasparyan, who is in custody for the attempt to usurp power.
As it is known, the term of his detention was extended by one month. the court also stated that this time the investigator did not provide additional information about the existence of the purpose of usurping power in Serob Gasparyan's act.
Moreover, the court noted that the additional facts presented by the investigator reduced the threshold of reasonable doubt, at the same time noting that at the current stage, the data certifying Serob Gasparyan's possible involvement in the act for which he is accused may not be sufficient in the subsequent stages of the case investigation, without strengthening it with other data. - his lawyers noted. Criminal proceedings have been initiated in the main department of investigation of crimes against the state, constitutional order, and public safety of the RA Investigative Committee. As a result of the investigations, sufficient factual information was obtained that RA citizens S.G., who is the brother of a former member of the National Assembly, A.E., A.H., E.S., A.S., as well as former residents of Nagorno Karabakh A.M. A.S., identities with preliminary agreement with other yet to be clarified persons, as part of the group, made preparations to usurp the power, that is, deliberately created conditions for usurping the power of the Republic of Armenia, using violence and taking over the powers of the RA government through the threat of violence.
In particular, the mentioned persons, with the prior agreement, for the purpose of seizing the power of the Republic of Armenia, in exchange for a monthly payment of around 220,000 RF rubles each, to go through a three-month training in the Russian Federation and during it to get acquainted with the new heavy weapons, to learn the skills of their use, and after returning to the Republic of Armenia to carry out combat duty, as also, under the pretext of transferring the knowledge to other people, during 2024 they recruited a number of RA citizens and a number of former residents of Nagorno Karabakh.
In addition, they were informed that the purpose of the exercises is to return to the Republic of Armenia and to remove the current government, calling to "cleanse" and "save" the Republic of Armenia.
