Brigadier General Pourhashimi, described as a "military adviser", was killed in a Syrian opposition attack near Aleppo, according to Iran's semi-official Tesnim news agency, which is known for its closeness to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
The report does not provide details about Pourhashimi's military duties. For two days, clashes between the regime of Bashar al-Assad and the anti-government armed group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) have erupted in the Syrian provinces of Aleppo and Idlib. During the clashes, opponents of the regime captured a total of 39 villages under the control of the Assad regime.
