The government decided to apply a temporary ban on the export of a number of products to countries that are not members of the EAEU. According to the rationale of the project, it is prohibited to export a number of agricultural products from Armenia for a period of 6 months, including: wheat, meslin, barley, corn, buckwheat, sunflower seed, sunflower oil.
The decision is aimed at ensuring the food security and economic stabilization of the Republic of Armenia. Regarding the mentioned products, the domestic production does not meet the demand of the RA market, which is provided mainly at the expense of import volumes.
The ban established by the decision will not apply to goods imported into the Republic of Armenia and exported from the Republic of Armenia processed under the "Re-export" customs procedure.
