At least 596,000 refugees have left Lebanon since the Israeli military operation against the Shia Hezbollah movement began at the end of September. This was reported by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Lebanon.
According to its data, 557,000 people left for Syria, of which 37% are Lebanese citizens and 63% are Syrians. Another 39,000 Lebanese left for Iraq.
On September 23, Israel launched the "Northern Arrows" operation against the "Hezbollah" formations, during which it carries out large-scale airstrikes on the military facilities of the Shiite organization in the Lebanese territory.
