Iran considers a closer format of cooperation with EAEU than observer status. Slepnew

In the future, Iran considers a closer format of cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Union than the status of an observer country. Andrei Slepnyov, Minister of Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission, announced this at the Petersburg International Economic Conference. He expressed the opinion that Iran imagines itself as part of the Union, and observer status is only the first step. Slepnyov reminded that Iran is not a member of the WTO. According to him, for the development of cooperation with Tehran, a huge amount of work will be required to activate all the mechanisms that are currently working in the EAEU.
