An inquisition is being conducted against the second president of the Republic of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, his lawyer Aram Orbelyan told reporters after the court session in the case of Kocharyan and others.
"The accusation is a hypothesis that the person did not do something bad, but did something specific under the Criminal Code, that is, they don't say, 'Aram, you did something bad, let's judge you, then we will understand which article "When they say that, it's the medieval inquisition, when they catch a person, they say, 'You did something bad, let's understand what you did to save your soul,'" said the lawyer.
"When there is no charge, which is within the scope of the article, it is called an inquisition. In order for the case to be examined at all, then to change or not, to match or not, there must be an accusation, in which there are two important requirements: a description of the actions, about it 6 year, I say, there is no action attributed to Robert Kocharyan in the document called this accusation," he said.
