Iran has applied for the status of an observer country in the EAEU

Bakitzhan Sagintayev, head of the board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, informed that Iran has submitted an application for the status of EAEU observer country. "The application was received on May 27, we are starting the relevant procedures," Sagintayev said on Tuesday, at the session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council. Prime Minister of Belarus Roma Golovchenko considers it necessary to create a list of countries and regional trade associations with which the EAEU should start signing agreements on a free trade zone. He emphasized that today there are many states in the world that are ready to cooperate with EAEU. They are, first of all, Indonesia, UAE and Mongolia. The next session of the EAEU intergovernmental council will take place at the end of September.
