The “Hraparak” newspaper writes: “Last month, the Board of Trustees of the “Yerevan State University” Foundation announced a competition for the position of YSU rector, as the term of office of the current rector is expiring. The application period ended on August 31.
We were informed that no one except Hovhannes Hovhannisyan submitted an application. That is, a formal competition with one candidate will take place. The force that came to power under the slogan of fair elections destroyed the electoral system in 9 years. And at the time, 7-8 candidates were nominated for the position of YSU rector. The last competition was held in 2020, when 5 candidates applied.
