Against the background of the fact that rail transportation of Russian grain to Armenia has become stable, Russia may stop road transportation from the Krasnodar Territory to Armenia via Upper Lars. This is stated in the report of the Georgian Eurasian Transport Corridor Investment Center (TRRC),reportedlocal media.
Georgian experts believe that Russia’s strategy is to redirect some cargo flows to the railway, an example of which is the sending of Armenian cargo, mainly grain, through the territory of Azerbaijan.
“In this way, Moscow is trying to reduce the load on the strategically important Upper Lars border crossing,” the TRRC noted.
