In the name of the mother: sexual slurs
In July 2023, in the comments of the publications of Maria Karapetyan's Facebook page, rude, including sexual, insults appeared from the user account named "Aida Hayrapetyan". The media presented that user account as Maria Karapetyan's mother.
One of the published comments, for example, referred to one of Maria Karapetyan's critics and contained sexual insults. After that, there was a strong reaction on social networks. users criticized not only the content of the comments, but also the fact that, according to published data, they were written in the name of the deputy's mother.
One of the posts sharing the screenshots of the comments was even titled: "Maria Karapetyan's mother tells in detail how she had her daughter."
However, the most important aspect of this story is that Maria Karapetyan denied that her mother was the author of those comments. On July 14, 2023, in a conversation with journalists in the National Assembly, he stated: "My mother did not write such words and does not have such vocabulary in general." Karapetyan explained that it is possible that someone created a fake account with his mother's name and photo.
Campaign against former ombudsman
According to the "Dejavue" Telegram channel, he previously wrote that the attacks against the former MP Arman Tatoyan and the reduction of the funding of his organization were initiated by Maria Karapetyan herself, at the urging of her Azerbaijani friends, who are connected to the ruling "New Azerbaijan" party. According to the source, the goal was to replace Tatoyan with someone who would not prioritize the issue of prisoners and missing persons over the Armenian-Azerbaijani rapprochement agenda.
The same channel also reminds that at one time it was Maria Karapetyan who gave a pass to the National Assembly to a transgender person who made a sensational speech from the parliament's podium.

The media notes that Karapetyan, who was trained in Western institutions, particularly in the "Rondine Cittadella della Pace" organization and is a member of its board of directors, preaches peace in Armenia against the background of Azerbaijan's leadership making claims to Armenian territories, talking about a new war.

Another sensational story related to the name of Maria Karapetyan concerns the Azerbaijani deputies who arrived in Yerevan in February 2022. During the process of organizing the security and hospitality of the Azerbaijani delegation that arrived in Armenia within the framework of "Euronest", Maria Karapetyan, as the head of the Armenian delegation, announced that all guests arriving in Armenia should be properly received. Meanwhile, one of the restaurants in Yerevan refused to serve the Azerbaijani delegation.
