Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that Tehran is not negotiating with the US at the moment, but the parties continue to exchange messages through mediators, informsMehr.
"We are not currently negotiating with the USA, but messages are exchanged through mediators," the Iranian minister said.
According to him, a number of countries continue to work towards the creation of conditions for the resumption of dialogue. At the same time, Araghchi emphasized that the negotiations cannot be resumed until Washington stops the violation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding and takes steps to compensate for the consequences of its violations.
Referring to the negotiations with Oman, the minister noted that they are dedicated to the creation of a new sea route through the Strait of Hormuz. He informed that the existing routes will be replaced by new ones.
Araghchi separately emphasized that the agreements reached with Oman do not mean the automatic opening of the Strait of Hormuz. "An agreement can be reached, but the opening of the strait depends on other conditions, which were conveyed through mediators," the Iranian Foreign Minister stated.
