The preliminary investigation of the criminal proceedings regarding the criminal harassment of 2 minors by 3 persons in the city of Vedi was completed in the main department of the investigation of especially important cases of the RA Investigative Committee.
The CC informs that as a result of large-scale investigative and evidentiary operations carried out during the preliminary investigation, it was confirmed that 64-year-old resident of Vedi city, taxi driver D.A., being informed by work about the vulnerable situation arising from the difficult social conditions of the family of a fellow citizen, in the period from the beginning of 2025 to April 2026, using the helpless condition of one of his minor girls, by persuasion and threat subjected him to sexual exploitation by regularly having sexual relations with him.
In addition, the accused DA, using the helpless condition of the minor girl of the same family, put her in his car under the pretext of taking her home from school in 2026 and kidnapped her and took her to the cemetery of Vedi, where he committed sexual acts against her.
The other accused, A.E., a 58-year-old resident of the city of Vedi, having learned about the vulnerable situation of the same family from his neighbor, the accused DA, waited for the minor girl on the way to school in April 2026 and, meeting her, introduced himself as her father's friend and offered to take her to school in his car, after which he kidnapped the latter and took her to the area of the church of Vedi, where, taking advantage of the minor's helpless condition, he committed acts against her. is violent acts of a sexual nature. In addition, V.E., a 39-year-old resident of the city of Yerevan, under the pretext of doing charity for the same family, established intimacy with one of the minors, and in February 2026, while visiting the family once again, using the opportunity to go shopping for her, broke up with her, during which, taking advantage of the latter's helpless state, he committed lewd acts against her.
For the criminal acts described above, according to the decision of the supervising prosecutor, a public criminal prosecution has been initiated under Article 189, Part 2, Clause 1 of the Criminal Code (trafficking or exploitation of a child or a helpless person), Article 191, Part 2, Clause 3 (kidnapping a minor), Article 198 According to Article 191, Part 2, Clause 3 (abduction of a minor), Article 44-191, Part 2, Clause 3 (attempt to kidnap a minor), Article 198, Part 2, Clause 4 (sexual acts of a violent nature), and according to V.E., under clause 3 of part 3 of Article 201 (committing an indecent act). Detention was applied to them as a preventive measure.
The criminal proceedings were sent to the supervising prosecutor with an indictment. the person accused of a crime is considered innocent until his guilt is proven in accordance with the procedure established by the Code of Criminal Procedure, by a legally binding verdict of the court.
