The other day, the employees of the operational intelligence department of SRC anti-smuggling department received operational information that there is a large amount of tobacco products in the area of "Agarak" customs checkpoint, in the back of the X-ray equipment intended for passenger cars, next to the state border.
According to the information and public relations department of the SRC, while implementing the received information, the operative intelligence department of the committee's MDP department found 29 boxes of cigarettes without excise marking, in which there were 14,500 boxes of "VAN", "Marlboro Nano", "Marlboro" , "LAMER", "Wisdom" cigarettes.
As a result of the operative measures taken, it was found that the found batch of cigarettes possibly belongs to RA citizen A.A.
It was found out that the latter transported the mentioned cigarettes from Iran to Armenia with the truck he was driving. The citizen emptied and hid 14,500 packs of cigarettes near the Armenian state border with the aim of bypassing customs control and transporting them across the RA state border. gave a statement.
