Chief of Police-Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Kamo Tsutsulyan, representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the leadership of the Police were present. The head of the Tavush Regional Department of the Criminal Police presented the work done during the reporting period. In the first half of 2026, the department registered 174 cases of crime, which is 17.6 percent more compared to the same period last year.
Serious and particularly serious crimes have decreased, while robberies directed against people, as well as using computer technology, have increased. The crimes committed with the use of firearms have been completely revealed. In the general picture, crimes against public safety, public order, and the health of the population have increased, which are mainly caused by the detection of cases of driving a vehicle without a driver's license by the patrol officers.
During the reporting period, 237 crime cases were registered in the Ijevan community police department, of which 182 were revealed. detection efficiency: 76.8 percent. No cases of crime involving the use of firearms were recorded. According to the results of the first half of the year, the cases of crime registered in the Dilijan Department of the Community Police decreased. Out of 149 recorded crime cases, 117 were revealed. Detection efficiency: 78.5 percent. Crimes against property and economic activity have decreased. A decrease in the level of crime has also been recorded in the area served by the Noyemberyan Community Police Department. 140 cases of crime were registered, 99 were revealed. The detection efficiency decreased to 70.7 percent.

During the reporting period, 118 cases of crime were registered in the Tavush Community Police Department, of which 91 were discovered. As in the previous two years, the detection efficiency index has increased. according to the results of the first half of the year, disclosures increased by 11 percent.

Summarizing the presented results, Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan thanked the units of Tavush region for the work done. At the same time, the minister noted that it is still necessary to increase work efficiency in a number of directions and provide more measurable indicators. Taking into account that Tavush is one of the largest forest-covered marzes in Armenia, the minister gave particularly strict instructions for the prevention and detection of illegal logging. It was ordered to cooperate more closely with the responsible structures of the environmental sector, including the Eco-Patrol Service, using all necessary measures to exclude cases of illegal deforestation. Within the framework of the fight against the illegal circulation of weapons and ammunition, it was ordered to activate both the operative work aimed at their detection and seizure, as well as the explanatory and preventive measures carried out among the population, encouraging the voluntary surrender of illegally stored weapons and ammunition.
Separate reference was made to crimes involving minors and crimes committed against them. The minister instructed to show an immediate and comprehensive response to each such case, ensuring the coordinated work of the relevant police departments. Regarding crimes against sexual freedom and integrity, Arpine Sargsyan emphasized that every report should receive an immediate and professional response, ensuring full disclosure of all the circumstances of the case and proper protection of the victims' rights.
In order to detect thefts, it was instructed to activate the operative-investigative work, to increase the efficiency of detection and to use the available tools and information opportunities more purposefully. Regarding the prevention of incidents of family and domestic violence and their response, clear instructions were given to strengthen the early assessment of risks, to ensure the protection of victims and to deepen cooperation with the relevant authorities. in the directions of improving road signs and markings, as well as increasing traffic safety.
Regarding the drafting of administrative acts and their appeal processes, the minister emphasized the legal validity and factual accuracy of each decision. It was ordered to periodically implement enhanced services with the involvement of various Police services, especially in courtyard areas, rural and border settlements, as well as in areas with tourist activity. Those works should be targeted, preventive and aimed at ensuring public order and security.
The minister also emphasized the morale and psychological condition of the staff, instructing the heads of departments to always focus on the discipline, professional training, working atmosphere and responsible attitude towards the service.
Arpine Sargsyan emphasized that more targeted, systematic and measurable results are expected in the upcoming period, especially in the directions of crime prevention and detection, public safety and effective work with the population.
