National Assembly MPs Sisak Gabrielyan, Taguhi Ghazaryan and Alen Simonyan presented the new project on amendments and additions to the law "On the Anthem of the Republic of Armenia".
The project proposes to perform the anthem exclusively in accordance with the version officially published by the authorized body of the state administration of education. If the project is accepted, the anthem can be used in the special cases provided by the law by the decision of the Government with the approved musical and short version of the text.
Iravaban.net has learned that the authors of the project propose to remove the last quatrain from the text of the hymn, that is:
Death is everywhere
A man must die once.
But I wish for my own nation
Freedom will be sacrificed.
The MPs also propose to make the law subject to mandatory implementation in pre-school educational institutions, in educational institutions implementing pre-vocational (vocational) and secondary vocational educational programs.
It should be noted that according to the current legislation, the law is now mandatory only in schools. It is planned to perform the national anthem during the official international competitions and tournaments held in the territory of the RA, and during the awarding ceremonies during official national sports events.
"Although the text and music of the national anthem are defined in the annex to the above-mentioned law, the national anthem of the Republic of Armenia is performed or sung in different performances and recordings during various official international sports, cultural and other events, so it is necessary to clearly publish a unified official recorded version for the performance of the cases defined by the aforementioned law. :
At the same time, the RA national anthem is played in a short version during various events (mainly sports, cultural) due to the specifics of the events and the air time. In the mentioned cases, there is also a lack of a unified approach and there is a need to develop a unified standard.
Therefore, the draft authorizes the RA government to establish a short version of the RA national anthem in accordance with the text and music of the above-mentioned annex to the law.
It is also expedient to make a change in the text of the RA national anthem, to rearrange it so that it ends with the following quatrain:
“Look at him with three colors
One gift token,
Let him blow money against the enemy,
May I always find Armenia.", with the appropriate logic and message," it is stated in the rationale.
