On April 2, Holy Thursday, H.S.O.T.T. Under the patronage of Karekin the Second Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, the Order of Foot Washing was performed in the Miatsnaej Cathedral.
During the sacred ceremony, after the scriptural readings, the Catholicos of All Armenians blessed the water and oil placed on the altar.
Then, under the singing of hymns, following the example of the Mother of God, His Holiness washed the knees and anointed with oil the congregants of the Mother See, Fr. Archbishop Haykazun Najaryan, Fr. Hovhannes Abegha Torgomyan, T. Mashtots Abegha Mkhitaryan, Aramayis Deacon Azizyan, Sergey Barseghyan, Deacon Sergey Barseghyan, Alen Urarakir Israelyan, student of the E class of Sevan Vazgenyan Spiritual School, and Abraham Hovhannisyan, a student of the A class, students of "Eornekyan" public school, Artashes Ghazaryan, Kamsar Martirosyan, as well as Armenians from different communities of Armenia and Diaspora. The feet of Vahagn Sahakyan, Monte Levon and Serob Ishkhan Yegineryan, Narek Ghevondyan, Davit Martirosyan, Stepan Skrtchyan, Narek Terteryan, Sargis Kocharyan and Levon Sharoyan.
At the end of the ceremony, the Patriarch of All Armenians blessed the pious people present with the "Protector" prayer, after which the blessed oil was distributed to the believers.
