An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.8 occurred in Iran


An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.8 occurred near the city of Germsar, which is located in the north of Iran. This is reported by the IRNA agency.
"An earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale, which occurred 11 kilometers underground, shook the city of Germsar in Semnan province," the statement said.

Reza Hani, the prefect of Germsar, explained that due to the incident, the electricity and the Internet were cut off in several residential buildings. According to another Iranian agency, IRIB, the earthquake was felt in Tehran, as well as in the city of Kerej.

In addition, according to the agency, tremors were also felt in the city of Qom, which is the administrative center of the province of the same name near Tehran.

There were no injuries as a result of the aftershocks.
