The Palestinian Hamas movement advocates holding negotiations with Israel, in which the issues of a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the release of hostages held by radicals would be discussed simultaneously and in relation to each other.
This was reported by the Al-Qahira Al-Ikhbariya TV channel.
According to an Egyptian security source, Hamas "insists that the issue of a truce and a hostage deal should not be divided in negotiations with Israel on a settlement in Gaza." As the channel’s interlocutor added, the movement “fears that after the [radicals] hand over the hostages, the Israeli side will again return to hostilities in the enclave.”
