The Consulate General announced cases of rotavirus among tourists in Antalya

The Russian Consulate General in Antalya announced a number of cases of viral infection among tourists.
“In the period from October 26 to November 2, 2024, a number of requests from tourists to medical institutions in the region were recorded with complaints of high temperature and other signs of an infectious disease, in particular rotavirus infection,” a statement from the diplomatic mission.

Meanwhile, it is noted that, according to local experts, there is no mass outbreak of the disease. It was previously reported that an outbreak of an unknown virus was recorded in Belek, Turkey.

It is noted that several dozen tourists went to the hospital with a temperature above 39 °C. The acute phase of the disease lasts about four to five days, then the health of the infected person gradually improves.
