Former Minister of State of Artsakh Ruben Vardanyan was "sentenced" to 20 years in prison in Baku. This is reported by the Azerbaijani APA agency. Earlier, at this fake court session organized in Baku, the floor was given to the defense side.
After the speech of the defense side, including Vardanyan's final speech, the presiding judge Zeynal Agaev asked the parties of the "trial" (accusing and defending parties) if they intend to present the preliminary version of the "final decision of the court" after the "trial". After that, the presiding judge announced the end of the "trial" and left the conference room.
Let's remind that since January 17, a fake trial has been going on in Azerbaijan against the members of the military-political leadership of Artsakh and other Armenian prisoners. Among the accused are the former presidents of Artsakh Arkadi Ghukasyan, Bako Sahakyan and Arayik Harutyunyan, the former commander of the Defense Army Levon Mnatsakanyan, his deputy Davit Manukyan, the former foreign minister Davit Babayan and the former speaker of the parliament Davit Ishkhanyan.
Illegal verdicts in the form of life imprisonment were also recently passed on them.
