The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, sees the need to revise the list of diseases incompatible with military service. According to "Armenpress", the prime minister mentioned this in a briefing with journalists, referring to the issue of various officials and their sons not having served in the army.
"First of all, it should be determined whether it happened on a legal basis or not, because if a person has an illness incompatible with service... or there has been a settlement for a long time, candidates of sciences did not serve. Now we are also reviewing the list of diseases that are incompatible with the service and we are continuing this process. Recently, I visited a soldier's house, one of whose beneficiaries, a former officer who is now disabled, said that he can serve in the army, and I said yes. Now technologies are changing so much that even a person with a disability can join the military service, can be an ATS operator," said the Prime Minister.
Nikol Pashinyan added that the government is going the way of improving the legislation in order to exclude as much as possible cases of avoiding military service through corruption mechanisms.
