In today's session, the government decided to reduce the age limit for attending preschool to 4 years.
According to the justification of the project, the change will make it possible to expand access to preschool education and increase the enrollment of children in the system. In particular, in those settlements where there is a large number of children waiting in preschool institutions, the possibility of admission will be expanded, starting from 4 years old.
At the same time, in those communities where only one institution operates, the possibility of forming cross-generational groups will be created. This approach is especially relevant for small settlements where, due to the small number of children of preschool age, the construction of separate kindergartens is not economically feasible.
The purpose of the regulation is not only to increase the enrollment of children, but also to ensure the full implementation of compulsory preschool education for 5-6 year old children.
